Im seeing more and more threads about people have issues with the AF not being TAC sharp so rather then keep replying to each thread I am going to be proactive here and start a new one.  It seems many are using the center AF point.  This is not a good choice for this camera for 2 reasons. 1. being full frame and shooting at f2 which many are doing the center spot is fairly large. this is bad for such a shallow DOP.  Using flexible spot gives you a smaller spot to focus on. 2. back to the shalow DOP, focusing with the center spot and recomposing can cause the area to be OOF even if the distance changes only a few mm from the camera from the time you compose to pressing the shutter buttons.

Also try using the AF lock sound or green dot in the bottom left of the screen to confirm the shot.  The RX 1 will still take even if it can't lock and will give you a pic that can be slightly OOF. Please repot back on this thread if you have improvement.  Hope this helps.
