Help with error message in Sigma Photo Pro

I just received my beautiful new DP2M camera.  I downloaded the latest Sigma Photo Pro software from the Sigma site.

I cannot open any images from my DP2M.  I can see the thumbnails in the browser, but when I click to open I get the following message:

Error (kErrDataNotAvailable)

I downloaded the software a second time and got the same problem, which happens with every image.  I cannot find any reference to that error message anywhere on the internet. I am running Mac Os X 10.8.2 on a MacBook Air (latest edition).
