I can't answer your question, but for a discussion of how the human eye compares to current cameras you might like the article "The Future of Image Capture" by Alexis Gerard on pages 350-351 of the book "Camera" (ISBN: 978-1-4027-5656-6). Gerard notes performance of the human eye such as high sensitivity, anti-shake, blur correction, and noise correction, plus less obvious ways that cameras fail to match human performance, e.g. peripheral vision, depth perception, and metadata. (Info about the picture we associate with our visual memories). His conclusion is that ultimately we expect our cameras to equal what we see with our eyes. Regards, Geoff.
