Your graph doesn't explain anything concerning the 17mm F1.8, just what the pincushion distortion is In general.

What is it you don't like about the 17mm F1.8 : the fact that uncorrected pictures get a pincushion distortion of -5.8% ? Or the fact that after correction you can still get a distortion of -0.85% ? These measures have been computed by Lenstip here

In order to get the uncorrected pictures, you would have to shoot raws and to develop them with a non commercial software like RawTherapee. Is that what you do ? Or is your position only a principled one ?

That said, the fact that the pictures taken by this lens need so much software correction may explain why the lens didn't get stellar results in matters of sharpness.

I'm sorry that my sketch did not explain my concerns about distortion of 17/1.8, but I do not know how to do it better.

I did not read Lenstip review

I did post my personal opinion based on samples posted here by the member of forum. His samples are OOC JPG, so correction was applied, and I prefer to trust my eyes.

And ,yes, I did not comment on the sharpness, because sharpness depends on personal skills of a photographer, and his samples could not represent a reality.

That is said that probably I have abnormal sensitivity to distortions just because for the most of my life I dealt with exteriors and interiors.
