Who's getting the Oly 17/1.8?

Your graph doesn't explain anything concerning the 17mm F1.8, just what the pincushion distortion is In general.

What is it you don't like about the 17mm F1.8 : the fact that uncorrected pictures get a pincushion distortion of -5.8% ?  Or the fact that after correction you can still get a distortion of -0.85% ?  These measures have been computed by Lenstip here

In order to get the uncorrected pictures, you would have to shoot raws and to develop them with a non commercial software like RawTherapee. Is that what you do ?  Or is your position only a principled one ?

That said, the fact that the pictures taken by this lens need so much software correction may explain why the lens didn't get stellar results in matters of sharpness.
