the RX1 is a toy for PROs, who want to be able to get near the quality of their regular hardware although just only pointing and shooting... i have gear like the 1DX, tons of good glass... thats my profession... i need to have this kind of stuff...

so the RX1 is for me just a biz expense. a nice toy. if i would be an "amateur" or an enthusiastic private man and photographer without other professional gear i would never ever buy this RX1.

NEVER EVER.

But tell us what you really think?

I think you have a perspective that is probably correct for you, but your perspective certainly doesn't apply to me and it's not even close. I'd agree that the camera has some limitations, but so does every other camera I considered, especially the D600. Not to mention, but the D600 and a very good 35 prime lens are insanely huge by comparison. I don't even think the camera needs to be a toy for pros, as you suggest, but I'll let them speak for themselves.

speak for themselves? are you serious? do you really think that a pro will dare to perform any shoot with such a tiny little toy????

i wonder what kind of pro would perform a shoot with a camera that has a tricky AF system and all the other problems we know...

its boring to listen to you guys who try to find reasons to buy such an expensive toy that just does not make any sense due to its drawdowns and its high price (you need 4K to make it a usbale cam), at least as one and only camera or professional equipment...

PROs might use this toy as a freetime and always-with-them-toy, like i do... replacing my iphone-shots...

never ever this little thing will replace a flexible DSLR-system, with fast and accurate AF, etc...

the RX1 a nice cam, but still a toy. SONY tries to make some profits with being firstmover. next year you will get FF cams in this size without these RIDICULOUS HIGH costs. (600 for a VF!!!, 150 for a lens hood, etc...)

it takes a HUGE portion of fanboy culture to accept this kind of corporate price policy...
