The E-PL3 is the best compact enthusiast zoom camera

The RX100 and XZ-2 both start at f/1.8 while the E-PL3 kit lens starts at f/3.5, so if you shot ISO 1600 on the compacts you'd need to be at ISO 6400 on the E-PL3.  The E-PL3 might very well still be as good or better at those settings, but make sure to factor that into the comparison.  And with the kit zoom attached the E-PL3 package as a whole is a lot less pocketable than the other two, which strains the credibility of calling it a "compact" camera.
