Rollei or Sirui tripod?
I'ved posted a couple of weeks back asking about Gorillapods, but from the helpful comments I've gained much interest in the Sirui 025T. I've finally had some time to go to the shops and saw a Rollei that's similarly priced with slight differences. Wondering if people have opinion on the 2 brands? Price difference is about $40USD.
I'm looking for a lightweight travel tripod under 1kg. Height isn't my main concern - possibly stability and longevity/build quality are the main things after weight.
As far as I can see, they both are made in China. Sirui is 600g compared to Rollei 800g. Sirui is more compact when folded by 3cm (30cm v 33cm) but max height is slightly more (though not important for me). Rollei's main advantage or sell point would be the detatchable leg to become a monopod (never used one, not sure if I'd come to like it/use it or not). Both seem solid though the Sirui twist mechanism in the shop seemed sturdier than the Rollei. Looks, the Rollei looks a bit flashier with the gunmental colour at the joints. But aesthetics wouldn't be a main concern either.
Any comments on the 2 or throw in more options? I'll need to grab one in the next few days so any last minute input is very much appreciated/welcomed! thanks
