I'm really starting to dislike you RX1 people

Do you feel that you are getting the image quality you want from your travel kit?

Is your travel kit too bulky?

Do you have disposable income adequate for the RX-1?

Do you enjoy shooting high ISO images?

Is 35mm a focal length you have shot with successfully?

The answers to these questions will help guide you.

For pure IQ, the RX-1 will beat any of your current gear but that does not mean you will get better images with it.

Or, even if slightly better, your RX-1 images may not be enough better to justify the expense.  It's not like you have crap gear now, far from it.

Or, you may struggle to find a role for the RX-1, with it's fixed focal length and non-interchangeable lens you may find that your images are not as compelling as those you take with a "lessor" but more versitile camera.

It is a tough call.

It is also worth remembering this, the RX-1 has the current state of the art sensor coupled to a world class lens and is capable of phenomenal results in capable hands.
