How really is FX better....

I think he may be saying that by the time you downsize a D600 image taken with the 24-85 to the size of current DX images from, say, a D7000 and the 17-55, the resolution from the FX/24-85 combo will be higher. I can say that sort of thing is true in my experience with using the 24-85VR on my D800 vs. my 17-55 on my D300. But if I put the 17-55 on the D800 and shoot in 1.2 crop mode, I think the 17-55 still wins. Haven't done any rigorous testing, though.
