It just struck me about the D 600.

Frankly I think the price drop is due to either or both of the following;

1 - To better undercut both the 5D Mark II and 6D prices.

2 - To sell off the 24-85 lens (which perhaps they will replace?). Remember the $700 price drop is on the combination of body and this lens. The body alone is just $100 which really isn't that big a deal.
