Yeah, that Dell seems like a lot of monitor for what you pay. I'm going to read some more reviews before deciding.
Having looked at a lot of monitors's specs (mostly Eizo and NEC so far) I see that the most common pixel resolutions are: 1920x1080, 1920x1200 or 1680x1200. The Mac Pro will have an ATI 5870 video card. Which resolution should I be looking into when considering photography first of all, but also general stuff such as web, mail and other things. I've mostly landed at option #2: a good quality (but not top of the line) display which, when a 2nd display (professional quality wide gamut) is added the first one can be pivoted in portrait position -great for web or anything text related.
