Will update of elements 10 files to a trial of lightroom 4 effect my elements files?

I am presently using Elements 10 and would like to install a trial of Lightroom 4. I understand I can update my elements catalogue for use in lightroom, bringing in my keywork tag information. If I decide to stay with elements, will the process of updating to lightroom effect my elements files in any way?
