ETTR: Is it still a thing for you?

...or "Expose For The Red" since it seems to always be the one channel I blow out.  Some reds must have some bright neon-like dye or something as they wash out very quick, or the sensor has some red sensitive issue, so I look for red now in the shot and use that for my exposure. I even bought some bright textured red fabric that has some texture to it so I can try and keep it from blowing apart and washing out.

I usually rely on an old Minolta IV-F meter too (flash and incident) and rarely rely on the histogram or camera's metering other than a "What's going wrong now?" thing if the displayed LCD image looks odd.  I prefer to stay in Manual too.
