Except the RX100 only goes to about 18.5mm, there's no AEL button, no flash release button, no hot-shoe socket, much less flash range (so the built-in bounce is less useful), no EVF. Other than that (and probably other things I didn't list), yeah, it's the best of both worlds. :-\
Nothing is "better". There are always compromises.
