Of course Robin's argument is about telling the QUALITY of the light, even before it crosses a lens.

That is the reason why some of us are early risers, and come back at sunset. The Sun shines for everybody, but not everybody takes advantage of its gifts.

Compared to the Sun any artificial substitute is a poor thing. Painters used to travel to Southern France in order to get good light. But if you are not blessed with good light I understand that you might want to spend desperately 100 $ more on lousy, perishable equipment, in oder to overcome the disadvantage of living in a cesspit.

In theater they say that darkness forgives everything.
