My comments would largely parallel yours. I think it's really hard to make a comparison like this because the lenses intrinsically have a different perspective and different maximum apertures. Aside from differences in exposures, any comparisons assume the light was constant and the WB on the camera was constant. If these were taken in any kind of natural light, the passing of a cloud while changing lens could impact WB. I have both lenses. In real world use I'd be hard pressed to say either offers distinctly better IQ or renders images differently. I've never tried to systematically compare. If I had to chose I'd say the 60 is even sharper than the 45; but I find the 45 very sharp. I use the 60 more. I wanted a macro lens and in addition I tend to prefer the longer focal length. There are times I prefer the diminutive size of the 45.
