K30 purpose of the Green Button

I assume it has a P-line, but its fixed. So - pushing the green button uses this (fixed) P-line. The name P-line is quite weird BTW.

IMO the "Program Line" name is logic, at least when you know where it comes from.

"Program Line" is the line you get when you plot the program on a shutter speed/aperture diagram. This diagram used to be included in most SLR manuals, but I have never seen it in DSLR manuals.

"Normal" Program Line in Pentax Z1 using a 50/1.4 lens with ISO100.
