6D lens setup dilemma
Dec 16, 2012

I sold all my old setup and I'm buying a Canon 6D.

On this Friday I'm flying to japan (when I would like to have fun with my new camera).

My original idea was to couple the 6D ONLY with a nice 50mm in order to bring with me only 1 "all-around" lens. I was searching for a lens able to handle landscapes/street (stopped down) and portraits with wonderful creamy bokeh (WO).

After having read a lot of reviews I'm figuring out the following situation:

canon 50 1.4: great resolution when stopped down (landscape/street) a little poor between 1.4-2.8 (portraits and "bokelicious stuff")

sigma 50 1.4 (assuming to find a good sample): quite the opposite.

canon 50 1.2L: similar to sigma (maybe a little better), anyway weak in term of resolution on the entire frame

I can try to use a UNIQUE focal length for all my purposes only if the lens grants me both the factors I need: dreamy-creamy BOKEH and RESOLUTION (of course stopping down).

any advice on that?

thanks a lot and sorry for my poor english.
