Why doesn't the Nikon D800E need the X-Trans?

So the Nikon D800E has no low pass filter, yet does not use the X-Trans sensor.  How does Nikon get away with that?  Why is this camera not crushed with moire problems?  The D800E is selling far more than Nikon expected.  How can this be without a low pass filter solving the moire problem?  Or is there some newly developed technology with this camera that solves the problem?
