Nex-6 and nex-7 EVF inferior to A99 EVF when it is supposed to be the same?

I bought the Nex-6 for its class-leading EVF according to reviews and was disappointed when I first looked through it, as it was grainy and had terrible moire patterns when focussed on fabrics and stair-stepped diagonal lines.

I thought to myself "If this is the current standard for EVF, the technology has a long way to go". I accepted it as every review said this was the best and also because I live in a country where you can't return goods you are not happy with.

That is , until I had opportunities to compare it with the A99 EVF, it is supposed to be the same EVF but the A99 performs MUCH better, almost no grain and less apparent moire patterns. What's happening? Did Sony purposely degrade the Nex 6 and 7's evf?

THe shocker is that the Nikon V1 EVF is the best of all, a lower res EVF, yet when I looked through a friend's unit, I had a shock! Almost no grain, very, very minimal moire; I stared at the V1 in disbelief for a couple of minutes, struggling with the fact that it was an EVF and not an OVF, it was that much of a difference between the Nex 6 and Nex-7.

All the units of Nex-6 and Nex-7s in my user group all have the same noisy and moire patterns, so the problem is not unique to only my unit.

Can other users here also confirm on their end?

It is terribly disappointing for me as I come from film and OVFs and I shoot mostly through VFs.

What's happening? Losing out in quality to a $400 Nikon V1 and also to a higher end Sony model although it is supposed to be the same EVF.

I feel cheated.
