New T4i not taking lenses

I just bought a T4i (650D) and when I attach certain lenses to it to use for video shooting, the screen says "ensure a lens is attached then press the movie setting." I do both of those things and the only way to make it stop is to turn the camera off and then back on. But if it goes to sleep, which it does after only several seconds, it says it again when I wake it up. It's doing it with a Rokinon 85mm and 14mm, both aspherical wide angle lenses.

Any idea what's going on? It's frustrating.
