I have the 14-24 F2.8 and it's a brilliant lens no doubt. I purchased the Nikon 20mm F2.8 because I didn't want to risk the bigger lens out on site. I didn't expect too much from it but it sure surprised me. It doesn't resolve like a nano lens but it has a lovely bright natural feel to the way it renders. I can't speak about other lenses because these two are the only ones I've used. If you want to shoot interiors and stitch photos or do single and mutli row pano's, even a good 50mm in portrait mode does a fine job. I am playing around with spherical panos at the moment and so far the 50G is proving itself. Sure I have to take alot more photos but they come together better than my wide lenses. Good luck.
