Fotodiox PRO Grip NK-V1, recommended

Even though I initially was not sure my V1 needed a grip, I was swayed by the great reviews for the Fotodiox PRO Grip NK-V1 on Amazon and positive feedback on this forum to give it a try,  and recently ordered one from Amazon.com, receiving  it yesterday.

To often these kind of third party add-ons are poorly made or don't fit properly, but not so with the Fotodiox PRO Grip NK-V1 though! This is a very nicely made piece of solid alloy metal kit and puts a substantial well designed grip on the V1. The custom fit is excellent, and the battery opening provision allows the battery to be changed without removing the grip (are you reading this Nikon?). The thumb wheel screw secures the grip to the camera with the tripod socket and is flush with the body so that the camera can be set down on a flat surface without tipping, even with the 30-110mm lens attached.  Holding the camera, two fingers wrap  around the grip the index finger rests comfortably at the top.  This grip is very comfortable and I like how it iis removable (no glue!),  The only negative I could think of is the extra weight this metal grip adds to the V1. That might bother some, but not me.

All things considered, the Fotodiox PRO Grip NK-V1 is probably the best grip option if you don't mind the extra weight added to your V1.The price seems right too.
