D800e & 70-200 VR II at the Zoo and one OT observation

Nice photos - Ive spent many days walking through that zoo. Looks like a good combo with the 70-200. You've got some nice captures of some northern birds on your blog as well. Looks like the 2xTC is working well for you.

If possible, you might want to check out the zoo on christmas day - there are usually special "holiday" feedings for the animals and hot chocolate for the humans. When the weather turns really cold (january) I also had a lot of fun taking the ferry across to the island for some early morning frosty photos try the first ferry of the day). There is usually a great sunrise from the south side of the island, not to mention all the amusement park rides covered in snow.
