D800 4K Time Lapse in Hawaii (and some photos)

Hey guys,

I am a long time Canon Digital Rebel user (8 years) who switched to a D800 about 4-5 months ago and then went on a two week trip to Hawaii (Maui and the Big Island). It's a beautiful place.

I shot a few things with my new camera while there. First of all, here is my first time lapse video:

For those of you with higher resolution monitors it is available in 4K (just click original in the size options).

A lot would say that the D800 is overkill for a timelapse but I love the dynamic range of the camera and its high resolution allows for very good digital zooms. I don't shoot so many photos that I'm worried about the shutter. A few of the shots in this video were from my infrared camera and/or my canon 450D, which I also brought along with a Nikon to Canon adapter and a little netbook to control the time exposure.
