Welcome to the SONY world!
A77 is extremely enjoyable camera, so you'll not be disappointed.
But lens-wise Nikon is more experienced... SONY's lenses (not all) are often overpriced unfortunately. But still there are Tamron and Sigma to back that up.
I own 7 lenses, and only one of them is SONY - 16-50/2.8, which is almost a flawless lens.
