24-105 for my type of photo interests?

Wow...thanks everyine for the input.  The 17-55 is one nice lens.  Some of the night shots I have seen with that lens are spectacular.  I'm worried though, that may not be enough range for my needs without having to switch lenses.  I've decided to rent all three discussed in this thread and see what I like best.  Seems there is a promo at BorrowLenses that gives an extra 7 days for free right now.  I figure I'll enjoy my work vacation snapping photos for 17 days.
