K5 IIS USER MODE

I programed my K5 for 3 USER mode, if say I am in user mode 1 and decided to change to user mode 2 or user mode 3, I cannot access a different user mode unless I turn the mode dial to a different capture mode and then turn to user mode again to access user mode 2 or 3. Is there any other way around this? Thanks in advance.
