D600 raw photos look washed out in Lightroom, Good in ViewNX

How do you import into light-room? Assuming the standard default import: make sure you have the latest version of LR ,as you do (4.3 updated for D600), under camera calibration try camera standard ver 4. If that looks good use it as standard for importing by saving it as a develop setting and choosing that development setting in the import dialogue. View NX gives you your in camera settings (landscape, portrait, standard, neutral vivid and so) which can be modified later LR does not so one has to choose a camera calibration which is close to the required setting.
