75/1.8 is not for me (family/enthusiast photographer)

I can understand that the 75/1.8 lens does not work for you. In a home with limited space, portraits work well with a 45 1.8 for full body shots and for groups -- a 20 1.7 or 50 1.4. I take photos of dogs at the dog park and a fast 75/1.8 lens would be great as I find the 45 1.8 to be too short unless I am very close to the dog.

I just scanned a thread discussing the Sony RX1 and I have seen many threads about the Fuji X100, both of which have fixed 35mm lens. Many photographers find them great and useful and others fubd them too limiting. I am sure that is true for the 75/1.8, in dollar terms it is NOT inexpensive (some say that it is well priced given its quality). I personally do not like cars painted pink, but I see some of them on the road and their owners seem happy with the color. Different strokes for different folks. If the 75mm lens does not work for you, either return it to where you purchased it or sell it, there are plenty of photographers who would like to add that to their lens arsenal.
