Very disappointed with Canon T4i (650D) - over-exposed/washed out pictures

Those photos are fine for auto mode, but the photographer needs education.

The photos that are over exposed are over exposed because most of the photo was of darker elements or of things in the shade with bright light in the background.  It looks like these photos were taken in the middle of the day under very sunny skies which is about the worst time to photograph because of how harsh the lighting is.

The photographer must understand light and exposure because the camera cannot see the image it is about to record.  You must understand good lighting conditions and bad and compensate for that.  Understand light and understand exposure because digital cameras can't take greatly exposed images when the amount of light in the scene greatly exceeds the range of light the camera can record!
