For me I won't even consider shooting my D800 any more at 1/60 or 1/120 because it is noticeably blur. With my D700 I can easily shoot at 1/60. The safest for me after careful testing is at 1/160 or tripod. I can get away at 1/120 but am pushing at that point.

With which lens? Surly that can not be valid for ANY lens, can it? In the morning 1/100s hand held is perfectly fine for me with the 105/2.8GVR, which is a heavy lens, but late afternoon the same day I need to increase the speed to 1/120s or even 1/250s, but not more.

So I strongly disagree with all these people that say it doesn't matter. Now my D800 has AF issues so it could play a part on my finding.

If you cannot shoot hand held with the D800 it is probably your own fault. I cannot for my life understand the differences between the D700 and the D800, possibly should be slightly easier with the D800 since it is lighter. If you can't get good results with your D800 there must be something wrong with your camera, lens or your technique.

For me all I know is that D800 requires higher shutter speed to get sharp image.
