My question is can I get the all in focus / high resolution results with this camera and lens combo or will I need to invest in another lens to get the job done?
I don't see why not. But a tilt shift lens will probably do a better job... but that comes with a learning curve.
and if I do have what it takes, what is the best technique for this type of photography?
Learn lighting. Learn DoF. Professional results are based more on professional knowledge than tools. A professional will use the proper tools to deliver the desired results. He doesn't buy the tools in hopes of overcoming any lack of knowledge (although there are probably quite a few that might!). In this case, without knowing what you are taking pictures of, how much room you have to work with, what you might be using for lights, whether you are using a tripod, and certainly without seeing an example, it is hard to give accurate advice. I suppose if nothing else, you could try focus stacking, but of course you are going to need a tripod for this.
