Constant red dot showing in T4i video?

There is red dot on camera's LCD to indicate the recording is taking place, but that is not recorded on the video. Red spot on recorded video would suggest hot pixel/'s and there is function in the menu to map out hot pixels, but I'm not sure how that works for video, since not all pixels are used for video to begin with. Also you should be seeing those hot pixels in still pics.
