Did I get a BAD 60D ?

Hey guys,

Recently bought a Canon 60D, so far I'm hating it  There are a lot of features I really liked but the image quality is not there, I have the 18-135 lens kit and the images I'm getting aresoft with lots of noise, and on some outdoor and indoor test shots I got purple fringing it reminds me of a really bad fuji point and shoot I had some years ago (but that fuji was a $200 camera so i expected it to be bad) I have an SX Powershot too and the images I get out of that camera are better ! more detailed, crisp and sharp and the gradients are much smoother, I'm not a pro photographer but I'm a graphic designer and I know how to handle a digital camera, I started with a Nikon F801s when film cameras were at their top game ...

The camera I got has firmware 1.1.1

Now to my question, did I get a bad camera ? because I keep reading people raving about the 60D but the photos I'm getting make feel like I have cataracts and I wat to return it and get a Nikon D600 instead ...

Any insight is welcome
