The boat is also central, which is another rule break. I do try to keep my compositions a little off beat - I hang a lot of stuff together and there is nothing so dull as a bunch of pictures all composed the same way, especially since so many of my subjects are similar (small boats and big rocks, done at the extremes of the day...)
Yes, but the boat is clearly meant to be central, it looks like a conscious decision. The fact that the reflection is chopped off by just a few 10s of pixels on the other hand just looks like sloppy composition in my mind.
One could also say it is "grounded" by the bottom of the frame.
Unfortunately this also results in my eye being rather "grounded" to the bottom of the frame.
