Many displays with a swivel function allow to turn it in portrait orientation. There's also software for the graphic card providing this function, e.g. www.portrait.com/enu/pivot/features.html

Cheers Peter,
Maybe I should simlify slightly as what you have suggested is not what I'm looking for.
If i shoot tethered & vertically into Lightroom the image is displayed horizontally in Lightroom, i have to rotate image 90 degree anti clockwise manually. Is there anything I can do within lightroom so when I shoot vertically it shows virtically automatically? I've seen it done in Capture One.
If not & it will only display horizontally, if I then had an external monitor & rotated it 90 degree in theory it should show the image correctly, no?
It's purely as a viewing aid only & I do not wish to work on my computer with a vertical screen layout.
Regards
