How many leave the Big Dog (D700/D800) at home while traveling and take a smaller camera instead?

I  have found it truly liberating to go on vacation with light enough cameras that they don't become the focus of the whole vacation.  A vacation is not only about bringing back photos, but living where you go and soaking the culture and atmosphere.  Difficult to do when camera gear is so heavy that it conditions how you look, behave, and where you go.  I also found that a smaller, less obtrusive camera often yields more photo opportunities, and more interesting photos, even if of less ultimate sharpness or megapixels.  But smaller cameras are so good now that they have become my favorite for vacations.
