Years ago I stopped going into Adorama due to the behind-your-back attitudes about customers I witnessed (never felt I was the object of that derision, but it left a bad taste in my mouth).   Yet I still shopped Adorama online.

This past spring I walked in to the store because I needed a specific TOP filter - didn't go there for that, I just happened to be in the neighborhood.   Had to wait for about 10 minutes for it to come out of stock, and while browsing picked up a few more items on a whim.   When the filter arrived I was annoyed that it wasn't what I asked for.   Rather than being told they don't have that in stock, I was queried as to why the one given was unacceptable.  "Because I told you specifically what I wanted."

Not a huge deal, but I was insulted as clearly the question was about making sure I didn't walk out without making a sale.   That I was very specific and it was not respected - who needs to support such attitude?

At least with other respectable shops at least they give the impression of respect for the customer.   Eff Adorama.
