With the E-3 it was not decision as camera with HLD-4 required 2 batteries and no other options.

I only use one in the HLD-6 itself, don't want to have to remove the grip just to change the battery in the camera, I agree though that if you're on a paid shoot and time is of the essence then using two batteries is convenient, but the casual/amateur use one, is usually sufficient.
