A New Tamron 24-70mm VC or used Nikkor 24-70mm for the same price?

Filter size as a criticism? Really?

Why not?

Colors and bokeh seem like an extremely subjective thing... Nikon 24-70's bokeh isn't amazing either.

Colors may be subjective but I don't thing the same of bokeh. For instance, do you like the bokeh of a mirror lens? Or the 50 1.8D? There is a clear definition of what a pleasing bokeh should be, and the Nikkor 24-70 is superior to the Tamron.

Personally, to me, VC trumps those things you listed except AF speed... I'll have to see if I like the 24-70 VC focus speed.

VC is very good. If you absolutely need stabilization then get the Tamron. I don't miss it and value other things instead.
