The 25 could be a matter of physically getting closer or backing away and the telephoto is for things you just can not get to.

The other would be a wide angle like the 14mm and then the 45 mm but I don't think that is optimum. You can never go wrong with the 25 mm or normal lens.

Depending on the budget their are fast zoom lenses as an option.
