Surprised by the Panny 45-175mm power zoom - initial observations

Ah... you're right.  It must all be a grand deception 

I thought I'd supply an image to support my enthusiasm for this zoom.  Do you like cat ears?  Well this one was shot across a large room in my house.

G5 camera, electronic shutter, cross-hair AF, OOC jpeg, full zoom (175mm), handheld at 1/8th second without leaning or bracing myself against anything, 160 ISO, OIS engaged, 100% crop, no post-processing or sharpening of any kind.

The cat was running at the time.  (not really -- it was sleeping -- all of other details are true.)

I can't believe I could handhold a 350mm zoom shot (35mm equivalent) at 1/8th of a second and get this kind of detail in a 100% crop.
