Just go for a small number

2000 mAh NiMH AAs are commonplace - 4 for $16 and free postage. I believe cheap chinese ones 2600 mAh when measured using a calibrated meter. The number being only slightly bigger essentially means just as many shots per charge. Both batteries are NiMH, it's just that cheap chinese discharge rapidly in the cupboard and lose their performance over time. Since they are both NiMH, the recycle time will be pretty much the same.

I'm sure cheap chinese have their place, it's at the bottom of someone else's bag.

To put it in another way: If you purchased the cheapest possible camera with maximum megapixel count, pick the cheap chinese - otherwise go with Eneloop.
