Off Topic Question--GPS Recommendations for the Trail

I have the Garmin GPSMAP 60C, I bought it for a bargain price last year. Very robust, waterproof, good display but lack of flexibility. Doesn't accept memory cards and is not working with bitmaps. For my needs is OK but the limitations I mentioned should be considered. If I didn't need rugged waterproof GPS than I would rather prefer smartphone with Android.

I use my Garmin for mountain bike trips, it is mounted on the bar, I can operate it in gloves and if it occasionally falls down it doesn't matter at all.

List the futures that you need and than check which Garmin will have them. I know that people prize new GPSMAP 62 models.
