Granted different people like different things, I find Nikons too big and unwieldy and Canons designed for people with totally different hands yet lots of people use them without problem. I'm with you on *ist-D.  I liked it a lot... the feel of the body.  Granted that K-5 feels much more solid, I do like the body size and style of *ist D.  The grip, of course, is much smaller in ist D, but I didn't mind it so much.
