Thoughts on using a D800 from a long time D300 shooter

​I am also a sports shooter waiting for a D300s upgrade. I switched from the Canon 7D/5DM2 combo to the D300s/D800 because I have a dream of selling landscape prints plus I just love the flexibility of the D800. I am having the same problem getting more than a couple of frames per second with the D800. I share your thoughts entirely and if Nikon does not come out with a DX upgrade for the D300S then I will be satisfied with what I have but dang am I hoping for a DX upgrade to the D300S because there are times that fast frame rate is very useful.
