For all of the asto photographers and enthuisiasts Patrick Moore of The Sky at Night fame has passed away aged 89 years. Certainly in the UK he gave great help to and encouraged youngsters in the use of both telescopes and cameras when wishing to photograph the heavenly bodies. He will be sadly missed.

I was one on them, After reading his Observers pocket book on Astronomy. I made a telescope out of an old 50mm magnifying glass and a microscope lens. I saw the moons of Jupiter with this... and I was hooked.

Rest in Peace

I think he gave great pleasure to a lot of youngsters who then went on to more advanced things - you might say that he played a great part in shaping peoples lives - that is his true epitaph.
