I don't think this is a monitor issue.  I do a lot of video editing and photoshop work on my computer... so I've done calibrations on my monitors including the one I'm using now.  Plus... yesterday we had some friends over and decided to show some pics of the Mexico trip.  The over-exposed pics on my computer monitor are the same quality as on my television.
